1. What type of insert should I use with a Swaddlebees diaper? Although we recommend using a Swaddlebees insert with any of our pocket diapers, you can now use a wider variety of other inserts in a Swaddlebees pocket diaper. We have redesigned our pocket diapers to be able to accommodate not only more inserts but also to accommodate inserts that you may already have. Please see the chart below to guide you on your insert choice.
2. My baby is a heavy wetter, will this diaper work for us? Maybe. I only say maybe because not all diapers work for all babies. However, we have taken the heavy wetters into consideration when we modified the pocket diapers. We have widened the crotch area slightly, as mentioned above, to enable moms to use more inserts, thus enabling them to use Swaddlebees pocket diapers with their little heavy wetters. When babies pee fast, it does not allow the liquid to go through the microfleece to get absorbed by the hemp insert. This causes a lot of wicking problems because the liquid tends to just roll off to the sides instead of through the microfleece to the insert. This is what happens when the outside of the diaper is wet, but the insert is hardly wet. However, if the baby just wets a lot and saturates the insert, it will cause the wetness to go through to the seams and again, cause wicking. 3. How many hours can I use this diaper on my baby? Please don’t judge the effectiveness of a diaper by the number of hours you can leave it on a baby. Some babies can soak up a diaper within 30 minutes, some can last several hours before they fill it up. A pocket diaper is only as good as its insert. 4. I’m getting leaks, what do I do now? A diaper will leak for one of two reasons: either the fit isn’t right, or it is entirely full. If your baby is one that wets a lot and often, you can minimize leakage by changing your baby’s diaper more frequently and by doubling up on inserts whenever it is likely that you will go a long period of time between changes. Diapers can also leak if they do not fit properly - changing sizes may help. 5. There is no way this will fit my baby, this thing is tiny!!! Swaddlebees diapers do LOOK tiny compared to the more popular brands of pocket diapers. This is because there is more elastic sewn into the diaper to achieve the fit that we intended for the diaper. As long as you ordered the size based on your baby’s measurements (not just by weight), rest assured that the diaper will fit. If you have further questions about our diapers, please don't hesitate to contact us directly.
