Betsy started Bummis as a work-at-home mom years ago. But as her family grew (she has three homebirthed, homeschooled teenaged sons), so did her business. Now she works everywhere: at her retail store, at her distribution center, in her car, at home and at her mother's home, etc. Having a business, and kids and husband and the dog and all the cats has been a wild ride for her! All Bummis products are made by truly wonderful sewers in the pleasant atmosphere of their factory in Montreal.

Organic Prefold Diapers

Introducing new ORGANIC cotton pre-fold diapers! These are a totally affordable luxury.

Made of 100% certified organic cotton twill, they are wonderfully thick and thirsty. They come in a gorgeous unbleached colour and are incredibly soft. And the more you wash them, the softer they become! You will love the beautiful organic cotton packaging! If you purchase 6 diapers you will get a bags that fits 6 diapers, featuring the Bummis logo in full colour, that closes with a colourful snap. Bag not included for single diaper purchases!

These organic prefolds come in 3 sizes:
Preemie 2 x 6 x 2 ply for babies 4-9 lbs (fits perfectly in a Newborn Super Brite!)
Infant s 4 x 8 x 4 ply for babies 7-15 lbs
Toddler 4 x 8 x 4 ply for babies 15-30 lbs

These diapers should be washed and dried 3-5 times before using to remove the natural oils and waxes. Please expect an approximate shrinkage of about 20-25% after completing the pre-washes.

Made in Pakistan. Bummis is currently working with their supplier on obtaining SA 8000 certification in social responsibility.

Fantastically soft, beautiful and super absorbent too! The ultimate in comfort and fit for your baby - the super soft BAMBOOZLE is made from gorgeous s-t-r-e-t-c-h-y rayon from bamboo. Two sizes will take you from teeny-tiny (5 lbs) right through to potty training (35 lbs).

Bamboo is miraculous and eco-friendly - a renewable resource with a very short growth cycle, it is grown without fertilizers or pesticides. A great environmental choice for diapers - the Bamboozle's fabric is also super absorent. Tests have shown that rayon from bamboo absorbs moisture 70% more quickly than cotton (on contact), and dries 20% faster. In short, the BAMBOOZLE absorbs quickly and effectively, is comfortable for baby and not bulky under clothes! The Bamboozle will reach full absorbency after 10 washes, although it can be used after about 2 washes. Wash in hot water and dry in the dryer. Line drying will extend the life of this diaper.

The Bamboozle is made by our friends at Tots Bots in Scotland. Their products are top rated in the UK, and we are excited to be distributing them here – their team is dynamic and ethically minded, and makes a good fit with our own. Tots Bots products are Oeko-Tex certified – which means they have passed stringent European standards for non-toxicity.

Care instructions:
Tots Bots products made with rayon from bamboo will reach their full absorption capacity after 10 washes. However, you can use them successfully after 3 washes.
Wash as you would any other cloth diaper, being sure to check product label before washing. 60 degrees centigrade wash, tumble dry low heat or hang to dry.

Wow! Here is yet another great diaper cover from Bummis! Our brand new SUPER BRITE was designed to ensure a perfectly diapered fit – even for those long, skinny babies that need a little extra protection around the leg. This gusseted cover closes all the gaps! You will find the fit of this diaper cover like no other – our gusset with lycra binding is an innovative design that wraps softly around baby’s leg with a lot less bulk than normal gussets. The result is a very trim and beautiful diaper cover. And no elastic to leave marks on baby’s tender skin - only soft form-fitting lycra.

The SUPER BRITE is lightweight and waterproof. It consists of one single layer of polyester with a wipe-clean laminated interior. This is a fabric made especially for us – by our own local suppliers. Not only is it a fabric of amazing quality, but you can be 100% certain that it adheres as well to stringent environmental and toxicity standards. Cut and sewn in our own factory in Montreal so that we are assured of good quality and fair labour practices.

Super Whisper Wrap

This is a state of the art Aplix-closing cover is made from a super resistant waterproof laminate sandwiched between two layers of a soft polyester knit. Attractive and comfortable, this fabric can withstand even the rigors of industrial washing and drying. The generous cut of this cover makes it suitable for any type of flat, pre-formed, velcro or snap-closing diaper. The gusset is built right in! This cover is very adjustable. The Aplix closures have an innovative overlap design that ensures a custom fit on any baby. It has a durable, heavy-duty elastic around legs and tummy which will not wear out with repeated industrial washes. It is encased in soft, smooth polyester knit bindings for a comfortable, stretchy fit, and a leakproof seal. This cover can be washed and dried at normal temperatures in washer and dryer. Please avoid chlorine bleach or any other whitening agents.

Bio-Soft liners

Bio-soft liners are flushable diaper liners that make clean-up a breeze – this product is the perfect compromise between convenience and cloth diapers. No more rinsing poopy diapers in the toilet! Bio-soft liners absorb the solid waste - and then you simply discard the soiled liner in the toilet and flush away the mess. They are non-irritating and ever so soft and comfortable against baby's sensitive skin.

Our new Bio-soft liners are made of a non woven material with no binder, and will biodegrade very quickly (within 8 days in a sewage treatment system or 20 days in a septic tank). They are 100% viscose rayon, a cellulosic fibre derived from natural sources, and are made to our specifications in England.

Please note that the flushing of any biodegradable diaper liner may cause blockage in old or damaged drains and in sensitive septic systems. Please discard pee soaked liners in the garbage and to let the soiled liners soak a few minutes in the toilet before flushing just so that they absorb water and break down a bit before they are released into the system.
