Flat diapers are the
most versatile diapers around. Not only can you fold them up for diapers
but you can use them for a million other things as well. Do not be intimidated
by folding them. You can fold them a number of ways.
The prefold fold: Just
fold in quarters so you have a prefold sized material that you can use
as you would any prefold diaper (newspaper fold, angel fold....) An
added doubler is a good idea for most babes.
The Origami fold: This
sure sounds complicated but it is not. The great thing about this fold
is that it creates a built in doubler in the center panel.
Start with your square
flat and fold into quarters like this:
Then grab the upper
right corner and pull to the left like this:
Until you have made
a triangle like this:
Then grab both upper
corners like this:
And flip the whole
thing over like this:
Then start folding
in the left hand side like this:
And this:
Until you get this:
Then place the baby
on the diaper, fold the front up and the corners in like this:
Notice the great poo
catching pocket that is forming in the back... Now bring the wings forward
like this:
And fasten with pins
or Snappi!
